We’re going to dive into the exciting genre of Kuchipudi dance dramas, building on all of the ideas from our Fall and Winter productions. We'll share with you two full Kuchipudi productions which tell powerful stories from India that celebrate our shared humanity: Chandalika and Bhagmati.

We invite you to dive into the musical concepts that shape Kuchipudi choreography and composition: rhythm and melody, or tala and raga. For centuries, Kuchipudi dances have been shaped by rhythmic and melodic patterns that, hand in hand, contribute to so much of the intrinsic beauty of the choreography.
